‘I and SZ police’ composition contest initiated

The Shenzhen police are inviting contributions for a composition contest around the theme “I and Shenzhen police” from school students, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan compatriots and foreign students studying in Shenzhen.

The composition contest is to mark the Police Open Day that is scheduled to be held at the end of November.

The prize winners will have opportunities to get their stories published in the Shenzhen Daily, an English-language newspaper, and the Shenzhen Evening News, a Chinese-language newspaper, which are partners of the event.

The contributors need to write their stories with the Shenzhen police. For the Chinese-language stories, the content is confined to within 1,000 Chinese characters. For the English stories, the content is confined to within 2,000 letters.

The deadline for contributions is Nov. 10. The organizers will select the final 15 prize winners.

The special award winner will get a 3,000-yuan (US$425) cash reward. The two first-prize winners will each get a 2,000-yuan reward. The four second-prize winners will each get a 1,000-yuan reward and the third-prize winners will each get a 500-yuan reward. Excellent prize winners will receive a gift.

All of the winners will receive limited-edition souvenirs and honorary certificates, and some of them will be invited to take part in the inaugural ceremony for the 15th Shenzhen Police Open Day.
