Shenzhen has rolled out a special benefits package aimed at enticing Hong Kong travelers, coupled with an increase in the number of cross-border buses. The goal is to make Shenzhen a preferred starting point for Hong Kong residents traveling to other mainland cities.
By the end of September, Hong Kong travelers who opt for designated cross-border buses and ferries to reach Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport’s Terminal 3 or Ferry Terminal will get vouchers for dining and hotel discounts. Travelers departing from Shenzhen and purchasing their air tickets through the LY.com travel platform will also enjoy exclusive discounts.
As part of these efforts, the number of cross-border buses connecting the Shenzhen airport and Hong Kong has surged by 50 additional daily trips, reaching a total of 170 trips per day. These buses serve over 30 destinations across Hong Kong, providing travelers with enhanced accessibility, the Shenzhen airport said in a recent release.
In line with the implementation of the Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles policy, the Shenzhen airport is equipping its four parking lots with plate recognition systems that are designed to identify vehicles from Hong Kong, ensuring that drivers from Hong Kong can benefit from the same efficient and convenient parking services enjoyed by their mainland counterparts.
