Hainan Airlines will launch a route connecting Shenzhen and Milan on Sept. 20, according to an announcement from the airline company Monday.
It will be the airline’s third direct flight to Italy, following the Chongqing-Rome and Shenzhen-Rome routes. It will also become the airline’s sixth intercontinental route to originate from Shenzhen.
The Shenzhen-Milan route will operate three times a week, with round-trip flights scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The outbound flight will leave Shenzhen at 2:05 a.m. and arrive in Milan at 8:55 a.m. local time. The trip will take about 12 hours and 50 minutes.
For the return journey, the flight will depart from Milan at 10:55 a.m. local time and arrive in Shenzhen at 5 a.m. the following day, with a flight duration of approximately 12 hours and 5 minutes.
Hainan Airlines now boasts five routes connecting Shenzhen with foreign cities, including Vancouver, Paris, Rome, Auckland and Brussels. The airline has so far woven a network spanning three continents, namely North America, Oceania and Asia.
In terms of domestic travel, the airline operates a total of 30 routes with 60 daily flights that link Shenzhen with other major cities across the country.
