Starting from July 1, a new train operation schedule will be implemented, further increasing the density of high-speed trains between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Shenzhen’s railway operator has announced the addition of the G5615/6 train pair, which will run between Shenzhen North and Hong Kong West Kowloon stations.
To improve connectivity between Guangming District and Hong Kong, three trains traveling between mainland cities and Hong Kong will now stop at Guangmingcheng Station, according to a release from Shenzhen North Railway Station yesterday.
In addition, trains G2963/G2964 running between Chengdu East and Shenzhen North Railway stations will be extended to West Kowloon Station, as per the new schedule.
Several additional services will be introduced at Shenzhen North Railway Station. One pair of trains will be added to connect Pingshan and Puning respectively. The service of trains G2912/3, which operates between Shenzhen North Railway and Nanning East Railway stations, will be extended to Baise. Additionally, the service of trains G6012/7, traveling to Changsha South Station, will be extended to Liling East Station. Moreover, the service of trains G6021/32, bound for Changsha South Station, will be extended to Shaoshan South Station.
Overall, the new schedule will see Shenzhen North Railway Station operating a total of 724 high-speed trains, including 485 trains departing from or arriving at the station and 239 trains passing through it.
Shenzhen Railway Station in Luohu District will operate 182 trains, including 36 trains running along the Beijing-Hong Kong high-speed railway and 116 intercity trains running between Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Among these, four trains will provide direct service, while 10 trains will make stops only at Dongguan or Changping stations along the way.
