People will be required to present negative 72-hour nucleic acid test results to access all types of public places and transportation, a notice issued by Shenzhen’s COVID prevention and control headquarters said yesterday. The notice came into force with immediate effect.

Strict COVID prevention and control measures will continue to be implemented in the lockdown, control and prevention areas across the city, it said.

The city will continue to enforce anti-epidemic measures in residential compounds and urban villages, where negative 72-hour nucleic acid test results are required for entry and exit.

Indoor recreational facilities such as cinemas, theaters, museums, libraries, gyms, saunas, body and foot massage parlors, spas, chess and card rooms, mahjong clubs, internet bars, KTVs, and script killing and “escape room” game venues will be allowed to operate at 50% of their full capacity. Student- and child-care institutions and offline education and training institutions will also be allowed to reopen at 50% capacity, but at a date no sooner than the date for students returning to school in the same district.

Restaurants will be allowed to offer dine-in services at full capacity as long as proper COVID prevention and control measures are in place, as per the notice.

People whose Travel Card on their mobile phones shows a star, which means they have traveled to cities with medium- and high-risk COVID areas in the past 14 days, will be barred from the above-mentioned facilities.

High-risk groups, including employees in culture, sports and tourism, public transportation, supermarkets, entertainment venues, delivery, agricultural products wholesale markets, wet markets, construction sites, domestic services, hygiene, and catering businesses, will be subject to one compulsory COVID test every two days.

Schools, including kindergartens, should implement strict epidemic prevention and control measures to ensure that the students’ return to school is stable, orderly and safe. All faculty and staff as well as students should take a daily COVID test in the first week after returning to school and one test every two days starting from the second week.

The measures could be adjusted accordingly based on the COVID prevention and control situation in the city, the headquarters said.
