The Chinese mainland for the first time reported zero new local suspected cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Tuesday, Mi Feng, an official with the National Health Commission (NHC) said at a press conference in Beijing yesterday.
The NHC received reports of 13 newly confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection and 11 deaths on the Chinese mainland Tuesday, according to the NHC.
Twelve cases reported on the mainland Tuesday are imported ones. Among them, five were reported in Guangdong Province, three in Beijing, three in Shanghai, and one in Sichuan Province.
The sole newly confirmed case of COVID-19 in Wuhan on Tuesday was from a fever clinic, the city’s health commission said.
All of the 21 suspected cases reported Tuesday across the mainland were imported cases, Mi said.
Mi said Hubei Province has reported no new local confirmed cases for 13 consecutive days in areas outside its capital city of Wuhan.
Beijing reported 11 newly confirmed imported cases of novel coronavirus disease from other countries in the first half of yesterday, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission said.
