The selection of outstanding talents for the year 2021 has begun, the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau said Wednesday. The deadline for submission is Feb. 25, 2022.
According to the city’s outstanding talent training plan, Shenzhen selects no more than 10 talents every two years and cultivates them into top talents in the city’s key industries and fields.
The training period is five years, and the funds will be divided into three categories: 10 million yuan (US$1.57 million), 15 million yuan and 20 million yuan.
The selection of outstanding talents for the year 2021 will focus on strategic emerging industries and future industries.
Strategic emerging industries include broadband network communication, semiconductor and integrated circuit, ultra-high definition video display, intelligent terminal, intelligent sensor, software and information technology services, digital creativity, modern fashion, industrial mother machine, intelligent robot, laser and additive manufacturing, precision instruments and equipment, new energy, safe and eco-friendly energy saving (including waste power generation), intelligent connected vehicle, new materials, high-end medical devices, biomedicine, health care (including food, agriculture, etc.), marine industry (including marine engineering equipment, port logistics, marine fishery, marine information, etc.).
Future industries encompass blockchain and quantum information, brain science and brain-inspired intelligence, cells and genes (including genetic engineering), synthetic biology, visible light communication and optical computing, deep underground and deep-sea research, and space technology.
One candidate can be recommended by an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences or the Chinese Academy of Engineering, or a local university, public science and research institution, and a high-level hospital in Guangdong Province.
