Graduates from overseas colleges and universities can enjoy the city’s subsidies for employment and entrepreneurship, according to the latest government gazette.

Eligible graduates must have their academic diplomas or degree certificates accredited and appraised by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE).

The graduate must have a full-time college or bachelor’s degree from a higher education institution and a full-time or part-time master’s or doctoral degree.

Likewise, it is noteworthy that some financial support policies have been added such as living allowances for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Youth Employment Scheme and entrepreneur incubation subsidies.

Individuals involved in the GBA youth employment scheme who are working in Shenzhen can apply for a 1,000-yuan (US$155) monthly subsidy, with cumulative payment not exceeding 18 months.

Public employment service institutions in districts and subdistricts where the employers are registered will grant eligible individuals the subsidies.

According to the gazette, overseas college and universities graduates are qualified to apply for five types of financial support: job hunting and entrepreneurship, vocational skill training, flexible employment social insurance, grassroots level employment and public service employment.
