Shekou Subdistrict is committed to providing all-round services to international talents. With the Shekou Party-masses Service Center at its core, the subdistrict has built a management and service center for expats, a foreign legal assistance center and an administrative service hall for expats. In collaboration with professional social organizations, foreign affairs specialists, foreign language-speaking social workers and expat volunteers, the Shekou Management and Service Center for Expats now provides services to more than 95-percent expats living in the area.
During the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, Shekou Subdistrict played a distinctive role in combating the pandemic. The 10 foreign affairs specialists and 21 foreign language-speaking social workers allocated by the subdistrict, together with 79 expat volunteers who took the initiative to help, continued to provide services to thousands of expat residents amid the pandemic.
In the future, Shekou Subdistrict will continue to ramp up efforts to build a expat-friendly community.
