Longhua District was established on July 1, 2017 based on the existing Longhua New District, which was founded on December 30, 2011, as its predecessor. It has jurisdiction over an area of 175.6 square kilometers, including six sub-districts, namely, Guanhu, Minzhi, Longhua, Dalang, Fucheng and Guanlan, as well as 50 community workstations and 108 resident committees. By the end of 2019, the district had managed about 2.922million people in total, among which 462,000 were registered population and 2.46 millionare transient population.
Longhua district is one of Shenzhen's industrial powerhouses with solid foundationof real economy. The regional GDP of the district was 251.077 billion yuan in 2019,ranking the fifth among all districts in Shenzhen; the total output value of enterprises above designated scalein thedistrict was 516.539 billion yuan in 2019, ranking the fourth among all districts in Shenzhen; the total investment of fixed assets in the district was 87.548 billion yuan in 2019, up by 17.1% year on year and ranking thefourth among all districts in Shenzhen; the total retail sales of consumer goods in the district was 29.494 billion yuan in 2019, up by 6.8% year on year and ranking the sixth among all districts in Shenzhen; the total imports and exports value was 436.201 billion yuan in 2019; the tax revenue was 42.37 billion yuan in 2019; the general public revenue was 14.22 billion yuan, up by 6.6% year on year.
