Furong Urban Greenway

Introduction

The Furong Urban Greenway was built from the soundproof forest belt of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway, which runs from Xinzhou Road in the east to the Mangrove Forest in the west. It covers an area of 102,700 square meters and runs 3.08 kilometers through seven communities, including Cuiwan, Shawei, Shazui, Jindi, Shangsha, Xiasha and Jinbi, benefiting over 300,000 residents along the route. Themed on "nature, ecology and elegance," the greenway features a forest ecological environment based on scientific planning to maintain the original ecology. It is divided into three themed areas.

1.The sports area includes a skateboarding area, a children's playground, a tai chi square, a fitness square, a bicycle path, a running track, and more.

2.The leisurely strolling area covers distinctive corridors, wooden walkways, and other unique attractions. With stunning design, this area is bursting with life, along with picturesque pavilions and spacious bridges.

3.The cultural area utilizes cultural relief walls and themed sculptures to illustrate the historical roots and traditional practices of surrounding urban villages including Shangsha, Xiasha, Shazui, and Shawei.

Transportation Guidelines

1.Take Bus 103B/362/B820 to Xiasha Terminus and arrive at the western entrance of the greenway

2.Take Bus 4/44/225/M389/M39 to Shixia South Terminus and arrive at the middle entrance of the greenway

3.Take Metro Longhua Line to Fumin Station, then walk south along Jintian Road to reach the eastern entrance of the greenway

4.Take Metro Longgang Line to Yitian Station, then walk south along Yitian Road to reach the eastern entrance of the greenway
