Shajing Park is located at the intersection of Haoxiang Road and Jiangjun Road of Shajing Subdistrict in Shenzhen. It is an open municipal park and covers an area of about 54,000 square meters. Shajing, renowned as the "Oyster Town," is the earliest area in the world for artificial oyster cultivation where people has been cultivating oysters since the Song Dynasty. Shajing Park features oyster shell walls and integrates the local historical and cultural backgrounds, showcasing the unique charm of the Oyster Town.
The park is equipped with recreational and fitness facilities including table tennis facilities. It is also designated by the government as an outdoor emergency shelter with a capacity to accommodate 3,280 people. Over 30 different tree species may also be found in the park's verdant scenery, with a focus on mango trees, flame trees (Delonix regia), and so on. The landscaping includes both large trees and a variety of colorful flowers. Moreover, there is an approximately 800-meter-long jogging trail which winds around the park, creating a beautiful scenic view within it.
Shajing Park attracts about 200,000 visitors annually and has consecutively been recognized as one of the "safest parks" in Bao'an District in recent years. It serves as an excellent destination for the public for leisure, entertainment, sports, and fitness activities, and contributes to improving the quality of the urban ecological environment, optimizing the livable conditions for citizens, and enhancing the overall landscape of the city.
A statue of Confucius stands at the west gate of the park, which not only represents Chinese people's underlying sense of belonging and the significance of traditional culture, but also serves as a symbol of respect and inheritance for the traditional culture.
