Introduction to the Park

Covering an area of 137,000 square meters west of Shahe West Road, east of Shigu Road, north of Xinguang Road and south of Liuxian Boulevard in Nanshan District, the Shigu Mountain Park is located in Qinggu Bay (also known as Shigu Bay), in Xili Subdistrict. In the old days, the bay was full of strange rocks, with a 76-meter-high mountain spanning 400 meters from east to west and 250 meters from south to north in the middle. Legend has it that there was a big green rock north of the mountain, resembling a drum. It is therefore named Shigu Mountain (Rock Drum Mountain). Shigu Mountain, in the central area of Xili, has witnessed the transformation of Xili from a remote area into a modern urban subdistrict. There is an intact castle on top of the mountain, offering a panoramic view of the area.

In 2007, the Nanshan District Government, which holds jurisdiction of Xili Subdistrict, decided to build the Shigu Mountain Park, which was completed and opened to the public at the end of 2008. Meticulously planned, the park was built by the Shigu Mountain, housing a native litchi forest, newly constructed green belts, hiking trails, squares, landscape pavilions and a promenade. The park has been known for its hiking trails, with fitness facilities on cobblestone garden paths.

In May 2021, the Shigu Mountain Park was jointly honored as a "Guangdong Rule-of-law Culture Theme Park" by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Justice, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Guangdong Provincial Office for the Promotion of Law.
