Introduction to the Park

Located along the southwest coast of Shenzhen, the Shenzhen Bay Park consists of two parts: the Mangrove Coastal Ecological Park, established in 2000, and the Shenzhen Bay Coastal Leisure Belt, built in 2011. Covering a total area of 128.74 hectares with a coastline extending about 13 kilometers, the park features 14 themed attractions and seamlessly connects with Shenzhen Talent Park and the Shahe Leisure Belt, along with its westward extension.

The Mangrove Coastal Ecological Park, now a part of Shenzhen Bay Park, opened to the public in December 2000. Covering an area of 20.67 hectares, the park was transformed from a mudflat located in the northern section of the bay, originally reclaimed from the sea for the construction of Binhai Boulevard. The municipal government, prioritizing ecological conservation, decided to shift the boulevard 200 meters north of its original route for the protection of the area's pristine mangrove forest, and the reclaimed land was thereafter repurposed into the Mangrove Coastal Ecological Park.

The Shenzhen Bay Coastal Leisure Belt covers an area of around 108.07 hectares and is planned with 14 themed attractions interconnected by a well-designed slow traffic system. Highlighted attractions along the belt, listed from east to west, include the Mangrove Coastal Ecological Park, Egret Slope, Universiade Torch Tower, Crescent Valley, Sunrise Theater, Wedding Square, and more.
