Qianwan No. 1 Road, the major trunk road and gateway to Qianhai, will be renamed Qianhai Boulevard, according to a draft that has proposed new names to all 137 roadways in the Qianhai area.
Residents can check the details of the renaming at http://qh.sz.gov.cn or http://pnr.sz.gov.cn, and offer suggestions to Qianhai Authority by emailing qhgjc@qh.sz.gov.cn before June 25.
The roadways include 37 roads in Guiwan (24 have been named and 13 roads are still unnamed), 39 roads in Qianwan (20 named, 19 unnamed) and 61 roads in Mawan (12 named, 49 unnamed), according to the draft.
The city unveiled the naming plan for the 15-square-kilometer Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone in 2013 and named the three areas and major roads, bridges, flyovers, parks and coastal leisure belts. But the plan did not give names to the minor and branch roads in the zone.
The draft now covers names for all roadways in the 15-square-kilometer area.
