Founded in 1990, Shenzhen Foreign Languages School is a key school directly under the Shenzhen Municipal Education Bureau, a national class-one school in Guangdong Province, a State-level demonstration school in Guangdong, a national civilized unit and a civilized unit of Guangdong. It was recognized by the Ministry of Education as a national demonstration school run by law, a national experimental school of modern educational technology and one of the first batch of 13 foreign languages schools which can recommend 20 percent of high school graduates for admission to key universities in China. The school currently has six departments, including Donghai Attached Primary School, Junior High School Department, Yantian Senior High School Department, Longhua Senior High School Department, Nanshan International Department and Longgang International Department.
