Trade with EU up by 14.8 percen

Shenzhen's trade with the EU reached 289.5 billion yuan (US$45.4 billion) between January and November this year, up by 14.8 percent year on year, statistics from Shenzhen Customs showed yesterday.


Data showed that exports reached 216.1 billion yuan, up by 14.6 percent, while imports increased by 15.5 percent to 73.4 billion yuan in the first 11 months of the year.


In November, Shenzhen’s total trade with the EU reached 31.8 billion yuan, up by 17.6 percent.


Between January and November, general trade took up 62 percent of the total trade, and bonded trades reached 56 billion yuan, taking up 19.4 percent of the total trade and the trade in forms of processing increased by 10.3 percent to 51.3 billion yuan, accounting for 17.7 percent of the total trade.


Private enterprises’ trade with the EU reached 174.3 billion yuan, around 60 percent of the total in 11 months.


Shenzhen’s trade with four major EU trading partners, namely Germany, the Netherlands, France and Italy, respectively reached 69.8 billion yuan, 47.1 billion yuan, 34.2 billion yuan and 27.7 billion yuan, and up by 9.8 percent, 21.5 percent, 9.5 percent and 21.9 percent.


Trade of electrical and mechanical products still plays an important role, raking in a total of 172.7 billion yuan in trade volume in the first 11 months, up by 25.3 percent year on year, taking up 79.9 percent of the total trade with the EU.
