SZ ranked 1st in number of patents granted

Shenzhen ranked first among cities in Guangdong Province in terms of the number of patents granted in the first four months of this year, with 79,025, according to information released by a province-wide data platform, GData.
Guangzhou and Foshan ranked second and third, respectively. The statistics showed a total of 260,760 patents were authorized in Guangdong Province from January to April. The largest number of patents authorized went to utility models, totaling 134,018, followed by 94,737 industrial designs and 32,005 inventions.
The number of newly granted patents in Guangdong in April reached 77,552, accounting for 30 percent of the total number of patents authorized in the past four months.
