Per capita disposable income of SZ residents tops ¥64,000

The per capita disposable income of Shenzhen residents in 2020 was 64,878 yuan (US$10,024), a nominal increase of 3.8 percent over 2019.


If the factor of inflation is taken into account, the actual growth was 1.5 percent, statistics from the Shenzhen survey team of the National Statistics Bureau showed.


The per capita expenditure in 2020 was 40,581 yuan, a decrease of 5.9 percent year on year, and was 12.3 percent higher over 2019. The actual decrease was 8 percent, 10.9 percentage points higher over the decrease of the previous year.


Among the four items of disposable income, salaries and net income of assets increased to varying degrees. Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, expenses in dining out and service consumption were reduced. The per capita net transfer income was -2,243.30 yuan, 325.1 yuan more than the -2,568.81 yuan in 2019.


The pandemic has seriously affected residents’ consumption strength and consumption patterns. The spending on garments, communications, culture, education and entertainment dropped by more than 10 percent.
