The 1.6-kilometer-long Shenzhen Festival Avenue in Futian District was packed with visitors last Saturday as an intangible cultural heritage-themed parade took place there to mark the opening of the sixth Shenzhen Intangible Cultural Heritage Week.

Seventeen groups of performers from home and abroad, plus six huge installations and festooned vehicles, presented intangible cultural heritage from around the world such as Shenzhen Shatoujiao's fish lantern dance, the Yingge dances of Guangdong's Chaozhou and Shantou, Brazilian samba and African drum dances among others. Various activities featuring intangible cultural heritage, such as fairs, shows and exhibitions are being held across the city through this Friday.
